Lostock Skip Hire’s director, Joanna Dyke, has won a major business award for excellence.
Joanna, who took over the family skip hire and waste management business in 2015, transforming it into one of the largest operations in Lancashire, was named Woman of the Year in Construction at the Bolton Women in Business 2025 awards.
The third annual event celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of women business leaders at Bolton FC’s Toughsheet Community stadium, where more than 400 delegates came together to champion the very best of local talent across 36 categories.
I’ve been inspired by many women in my career, not least my own mum who started Lostock Skip Hire with my dad and to win this award is a real testament to her and their belief in me. As a woman working in this sector I often feel I have to prove myself over and over again, but I and my LSH team – women and men – work hard every day to be the best we can, look after our customers and to innovate and grow the business. To be part of this event and be surrounded by so many amazing and dynamic women is truly inspiring and empowering and I’m delighted to have won..”
