Why the new LSH HQ is more than just a building
When we founded Lostock Skip Hire, we didn’t set out to be the biggest. We set out to be the most trusted. Over the past decade, that simple ambition has driven almost every decision we’ve made, from how we treat our customers to how we invest in our team, our technology, and our community.
This month, we opened the doors to our new headquarters at Star Vale, Bolton. It’s a proud moment for us, but more importantly, it’s a signal of what comes next. Because this building isn’t just about scale, it’s about purpose.
Built on trust, powered by purpose
We’ve built our reputation on three things: reliability, responsibility, and relationships. Whether it’s a homeowner clearing a garden, a contractor managing site waste, or a business navigating new compliance rules, our job is to make things simple, safe, and sustainable. That’s why we’ve invested in a facility that helps us serve people better, respond faster, and lead smarter.
As highlighted in Skip & Waste Magazine earlier this year, the waste sector is undergoing a quiet revolution. New regulations, rising customer expectations, and the urgent need for environmental leadership mean that skip hire companies must evolve. At LSH, we’re proud to be ahead of the curve. We’re fully licensed, fully transparent, and fully committed to responsible recycling.
Investing in innovation and impact
During the last few years we have modernised our fleet with the acquisition of 28 cutting-edge HIAB Futura skiploaders, mounted on both 12-tonne and 18-tonne chassis, and two Multilift Ultima 24S hookloaders on 32-tonne chassis to ferry our 2000+ skips.
This year we have invested again. Our new HQ is designed to support our evolution. It gives us the operational capacity to meet growing demand across Greater Manchester and Lancashire, with flexible logistics, modern fleet management, and enhanced customer support. But it also gives us space to collaborate – with councils, schools, charities, and customers – on the issues that matter most.
A hub for community and change
We’re passionate about reducing all waste streams, supporting greener neighbourhoods, and educating the next generation about recycling and resource management. We want this building to be a hub, not just for our business, but also for positive change.
Being part of our community is also very important to us. We support local sports teams, youth initiatives, and charities – like Bolton Hospice, Derian House and Team Wigan & Leigh – not because it’s good PR, but because it’s the right thing to do. Our team lives here, works here, and cares deeply about the future of our area.
Ready for what comes next
And we’re not stopping here. With flexible skip hire options ranging from 2-yard mini skips to 40-yard RoRo containers, we’re ready to support everything from domestic clear-outs to major commercial projects. We offer expert advice, permit support, and environmentally conscious disposal, because we believe that every customer deserves peace of mind.
This new building is a milestone, but it’s also a launchpad for better service, deeper impact, and stronger relationships. We’re excited about what comes next, and we’re grateful to everyone who’s helped us get here.
