If you’re thinking about skip hire in Bolton, Wigan or any other part of Lancashire or Greater Manchester this season, there are a few things you’ll need to think about before making a start.
In this article, the team at Lostock Skip Hire – providers of skip hire in Chorley and the surrounding areas – explain how to prepare to hire one of their quality waste containers.
Size
First of all, you’ll need to consider the size of skip you’ll need. You can do this by taking into account two factors.
Look at the space you have available. This may be on your own property or on public land (we’ll explain a little more about that later).
Now estimate how much waste your project is likely to produce. If it’s a minor home or garden clearance or renovation, it’s likely that you’ll only need a skip measuring between 2 and 8 cubic yards. If it’s something bigger, you’ll need something on a larger scale.
If you have a lot of waste to remove, we recommend hiring the largest skip possible according to the amount of space you have. This will help to keep your expenses down and means we won’t be interrupting your project by coming to pick up full containers too often.
If you’re not sure exactly what size of container you’ll need, don’t hesitate to contact us on 01204 698153.
Time
How long will you need your skip? Our hire periods last up to three weeks, so it’s important to ensure that you book your skip to tie in with the dates during which you’ll be producing the most waste.
We’ll collect your container as soon as you ask us to – and of course, you’re welcome to hire a new one as many times as you require.
Location
When organising skip hire Horwich, Preston or any location nearby, you’ll need to let us know where you want your container placing. We’ll need to have clear access to the location in order to complete both delivery and collection safely.
If you don’t have space on your own land, we can arrange a permit from the local council on your behalf. You’ll just need to give us a minimum notice period of two days in order to do so.
Type of Waste
Whether you’re arranging skip hire in Wigan, Bolton or anywhere else locally, there are some restrictions regarding the type of rubbish you can place in a waste container.
Most household, industrial or garden waste is fine, but we are not able to dispose of electricals, appliances such as fridges or televisions, dangerous, noxious ro explosive chemicals or gases, medical waste or asbestos.
If you’re not sure about putting certain items in one of our skips, contact us to find out whether you can. As an alternative, your local council may be able to assist you.
Once you’ve come to a decision regarding the points above, simply call us on 01204 698153 or fill in our contact form. Whether you’re arranging skip hire in Leyland, Bolton or any other location, we ask that you pay by card over the phone or online before we make our delivery.
